In article number 500246, Hisashi Shimakoshi, Md. Saddam Hossain, and Yu Hoshino develop a multisite catalytic system based on a crown ether-linked Schiff base with alkali halides for the synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides and CO2. The catalyst is recovered and reused for multiple cycles. The simulated post-combustion exhaust gas is concentrated and used for the reaction. This study provides a useful approach for CO2 utilization and contributes to the sustainable catalysis.
